Our 2017 Soror of the year is a Spring 2002 initiate of The Beta Psi Chapter at The Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering while fulfilling her passion of providing service to all mankind. Our Soror joined the illustrious ladies of Tau Chi Omega in April 2015 and currently serves as the Hodegos, co-chair of EYL and ASCEND and is a member of several other committees.  In her spare time she is a successful independent representative of Mary Kay products and enjoyes spending time with her husband Marwan and their 2 year old son, Jibril. DeLonda is the best cheerleader and supporter anyone could desire and her level of dedication and commitment is impeccable. Her favorite quote by Eleanor Roosevelt is, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."

2016: Soror Crystal Jones

Crystal was initiated into Delta Omega Chapter of Petersburg, Virginia in 2008 where she served on various committees including Archives, Membership Reclamation, and Chapter Yearbook. Upon relocating to Florida she joined the Tau Chi Omega Chapter of Deland where she served as Chaplain and currently serves as the Grammateus. She is Co-Chair of the Mentor program and believes that everyone should always wear their CAP- Confidence, Awareness, and Pride! Crystal is also Chairman of the Technology Committee where she spear-headed the creation of the Tau Chi Omega Chapter.  Crystal is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is married to Christopher Jones.

2014: Soror Aneesah Farris

 

Dr.  Aneesah N. Farris , is the owner and chiropractic physician  of Helping Hands Family Chiropractic , in Daytona Beach Florida . Dr. Farris is the oldest of 6 children and grew up in urban Buffalo, New York. She attended Bennett High School, in which she graduated as the class Valedictorian, in the year 2000. She attended the "Great" Bethune Cookman University, where she received a bachelor's degree of Biology, in 2004. 
 
Since graduation she has earned several alumna distinctions. Dr. Farris  has been given the award of distinguished alumna, and has the honor of being recognized as a 40 under 40 award recipient. While a student at Bethune, she worked as a certified nursing assistant, where she first learned the art of compassion in health care. Today she claims this is her most valuable asset to the patient. 
  
Dr. Farris earned her masters degree in health care administration, from the University of Phoenix in 2010, and her doctor of chiropractic medicine degree from the Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida Campus. While at Palmer Dr. Farris served as a Campus Guide, student ambassador,  she served as the secretary for the Student American Black Chiropractic Association, and is a member of the Florida Chiropractic Association. Dr. Farris also enjoys working in community health providing chiropractic care to mental health patients and underserved populations. 
    
Dr. Farris enjoys serving the Volusia-Seminole areas.  Dr. Farris  serves as a community chiropractor providing  primary care chiropractic,  focusing on internal disease and disorders, DOT physicals, pediatrics, women's health, injury care, rehabilitation, weight loss, smoking cessation, patient education, and a host of other wellness interventions. 
 
Being a servant leader is a core value of Dr. Farris, she is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc, Tau Chi Omega- Deland FL Chapter. Jack & Jill -Daytona Beach Area and The Junior League of Daytona Beach Chapter. Dr. Farris currently resides in Palm Coast , Florida, with her three boys,  daughter and husband, where they enjoy traveling , going to amusement parks, sporting activities,  shopping and reading together as a family.
